Web 2.0 Tools-Blog Post 1

I really enjoyed reading over the assigned material because it made me realize that I did already incorporate a lot of Web 2.0 tools in my classroom but that there were a whole lot more that I could be using as well.
One of my favorite tools to use is a Webquest. As stated in Building Better Instruction, webquests are fabulous organized activities for students to gain a deeper understanding of the material.
This is my first time blogging but I can see how it potentially could be a great classroom tool. Currently, I am using Edmodo in my classroom. This was something I just started since our students get iPad 2s on the 17th of November I am trying to ease them into using an app for correspondence with each other and with me. I think having them be more social has a lot of potential to grab those "outside" kids and involve them in more discussions.
Another Web 2.0 tool I learned about recently at a conference is backchannels. I feel that this could be a huge asset to classroom discussion while not interrupting the focus lesson. We will see!
